Happy Holidays from Voyageurs National Park!

“Spend a day at one of Voyageurs’ lakes and you’ll quickly forget about the busy world you left at home. Instead, you’ll enjoy the breeze, embrace the sunlight, view reflections in the pristine waters, marvel at the starry skies, or this time of year, glide through the crisp white snow. It is a truth well-acknowledged that a day in nature is a day well spent,” shares Christina Hausman, Director of the Voyageurs National Park Association (VNPA).

We couldn’t be more tickled to be in the heart of our nation’s largest water based national park! Our non-profit partner Voyageurs National Park Association works hard to protect and preserve this special place for the enjoyment of us and future generations.

But VNPA has never done it alone!

NLRO is a proud sponsor of the work that is achieved through the Voyageurs National Park Assoc. Because of the volunteers and dedicated park staff, this year there were many achievements! A few highlights of 2016:

  • Sent our 100th National Park Teen Ambassador to the park
  • Rehabilitated the Cruiser Lake Trail by leveraging federal Centennial Challenge funds with private donations
  • Participated in environmental review of projects threatening our watershed
  • Supported the launch of a long-term wetland restoration project.
  • VNPA also received a National Park Service Director’s Partnership Champion Award this year.

Would you like to help make more of this possible in the future?
If you haven’t done so already, please support Voyageurs National Park Association with a year-end gift. They will use your gift wisely to help protect our waters from contamination, conserve land within the park’s boundaries, recruit volunteers for trails and projects, grow the award-winning Teen Ambassador program, and ensure Voyageurs is just as beautiful for years to come.

Thank you for supporting the only National Park in Minnesota. We wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season and hope you spend some time creating memories outside.

We hope to see you in 2017 on the shores of beautiful Lake Kabetogama and taking advantage of all Voyageurs National Park wilderness waterways offer for best fun and family recreation offered in Northern Minnesota.
